Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
B-Talks - FAQS
1. How did B-Talks start?
B-Talks was founded as an initiative by Bhashyam Blooms Maheswaram, envisioned by Principal Rahul Noel to create a platform where students could express their ideas, develop confidence, and master public speaking. What started as a small event has now grown into a signature platform where students inspire and engage audiences with their powerful voices.
2. What is the purpose of B-Talks?
B-Talks is designed to empower students by helping them:
- Develop strong public speaking and leadership skills.
- Express their ideas, creativity, and passions
- Overcome stage fear and communicate with clarity and impact.
- Build a habit of structured thinking and articulate expression.
It’s not just about speaking—it’s about inspiring, learning, and leading!
3. Why 12 slides, 15 seconds per slide?
This unique format ensures that:
- Talks are concise, engaging, and impactful.
- Speakers learn to communicate efficiently without rambling.
- The audience stays interested and retains more information.
- Students develop quick-thinking and structured speaking skills.
The auto-advancing slides challenge students to be clear, confident, and compelling in a limited time frame—just like real-world presentations!
4. Do students really have to finish their talk in 3 minutes?
Yes! The 3-minute limit is what makes B-Talks unique. This teaches students to:
- Be precise and to the point—No unnecessary details!
- Capture attention quickly—The first few seconds matter the most.
- Keep the audience engaged—Short, crisp talks are easier to remember.
With practice, students will find that 3 minutes is the perfect time to leave a lasting impact!
5. What topics can students talk about?
Students can talk about anything they are passionate about! Here are some ideas:
- Personal experiences or inspiring stories
- Science, technology, and innovations
- Social issues and solutions
- Leadership, teamwork, and motivation
- Books, movies, and lessons learned from them
- Creative and futuristic ideas
The only rule? Make it meaningful and engaging!
6. What type of slide program can students use for their presentation?
Students can use any presentation software that allows auto-advancing slides, including:
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Google Slides
We encourage students to use visuals, minimal text, and impactful images to make their slides powerful!
7. Are audio and video allowed in B-Talks presentations?
Yes! However, there are a few important guidelines:
- Keep it short – Any audio or video clip should not exceed 15 seconds. If necessary, spread it across multiple slides to fit within the flow of your talk.
- Don’t rely too much on video/audio – While media can enhance a talk, the speaker’s voice, presence, and connection with the audience are the most important elements. Overusing video or audio may reduce engagement rather than enhance it.
Pro Tip: Use audio/video only if it adds significant value to your message. If in doubt, focus on delivering a powerful speech with compelling storytelling and strong visuals instead!
